Our motorhome is aSlipper 628 EB  Flash year 2016 oncarrier Fiat 2.3 JTD- Euro 5

      Nous l'avons baptisé KOKOPELLI...

Kokopelli is a mythical character often represented as a hunchbacked flute player, from ancient Native American beliefs in the southwestern United States. Kokopelli is a positive deity, worshiped by the Navajo, Hopi, Zuni, Anasazi Indians...

This cheerful traveler has a lesson for everyone. His biggest lesson seems to be showing us that we shouldn't take life too seriously.....and from you to me he's not wrong!

Presentation of the vehicle

We do not pretend to say that this choice of motorhome is the most suitable for this long trip. Quite simply, it corresponds to us by its space, its layout and its equipment.

- Overall length: 6.99 m

- Permanent bed with cupboards and wardrobe

- Separate shower from the toilet

- Bathroom

- Kitchen with 3-burner gas hob, sink and storage

- AES fridge/freezer (gas, 12v,220v)

- Living room

- Plenty of storage provided by the volume of the hold

- Contactor alarm, motion sensor and infrasonic sensor

- Private garden: no less than 42,549,000 km²

  Highlights for the trip:

- Permanent bed in 140, appreciable comfort for the duration of the trip.  In addition, this bed is height adjustable over an amplitude of 30 cm increasing the 'garage' hold located below,

- Large rear compartment accessible from both sides, very useful for storing camping equipment (chairs, recliners, tables...), personal effects (because you have to bring hot and cold clothes...) but also spare parts (water filters) air, oil filters, diesel additives, etc.),

-Heaterdiesel cell and diesel hot water production limiting gas consumption,

- Altitude kit allowing prolonged use of diesel above 2000 m regulating the flow rate for the diesel boiler,

-IRP structure, major innovation for better insulation,  better resistance, better protection,

- Fully LED lighting ensuring lower consumption for everything related to lighting,

- 2 cell batteries of 100 A,

- 1 solar panel 120 W,

- Fiat 2.3 TD engine which is a proven benchmark in terms of robustness and reliability,

- Three-way absorption fridge/freezer (3 energy sources) with AES system (electronic board that automatically switches between gas, 12v or 220v depending on the energy at the time),

       Weaknesses for the trip:

-DPF and EGR valve: The carrier is a Euro 5 and therefore equipped with the  FAP (particle filter) and the EGR valve (reduction of NOx (nitrogen oxide) emissions).

Diesel fuels from Bolivia and Peru do not meet European characteristics standards.

In order to avoid a problem of clogging causing at least a degraded speed, at worst risk of clogging with rise of the diesel in the oil with possibility of engine failure, we will proceed to the 'shunting' of the 2 organs (mechanical and electronic elimination ) before we left.

-Ground clearance: in order to increase the ground clearance so as not to have any surprises on certain 'tracks' in South America, we hesitated for a long time between placing an air suspension kit at the rear or equipping the vehicle with a blade reinforcement.

Our choice is made: Installation of reinforcement strip at the back ofJSA.

This doubling of slats will compensate for the load on board the hold.
